Shopian | : In wake of the ‘Good Governance Week’, the District Sheep Husbandry Department, Shopian Thursday distributed 05 Units of 10 Ewes each among the Tribal beneficiaries for development of Cluster Tribal Model Villages Chaki Shamsipora, Amshipora, Chaki Mirzapora and Saidpora Payeen at District Sheep Husbandry Complex Shirmal, here.
The beneficiaries were also provided with pelleted feed for winter stall feeding of the livestock and free insurance cover of their livestock for the first year.
The aim of the scheme is to develop the sheep farming in Tribal areas besides providing livelihood to the unemployed.
The distribution involves a financial implication of Rs 5 lakh among 05 selected beneficiaries under the supervision of District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Shopian, Dr. Syed Moin-Ul-Haq and Accounts Officer, Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Shopian, Umer Javid.
