Community mobilization programme held at GHSS Gole Gujral

Jammu | : A community mobilization programme, under the aegis of SAMAGRA Shiksha, involving School Management committees (SMCs) school management and development committees (SMDCs) Village Education Committees (VEC) and PRI members was Wednesday organised here at Government Higher Secondary School Gole Gujral by the Zonal Education Office, Marh.
The Community members were acquainted with the roles and responsibilities of SMCs, SMDCs, VECs and PRI members in the development of Govt. Schools
They were requested to come forward and revive the Education system for the future of children of their locality. They were also made aware about Govt. Schemes like MDM programme, free textbooks, free uniform for classes Ist to 8th, scholarship schemes for SC/ST/OBC/ disabled students and National Means cum Merit scholarship (NMMS).
Speakers urged the PRIs to promote the enrolment by encouraging the general public to send their children to Govt. Schools to get quality education by highly qualified teachers and to avail a string of facilities. Speakers from different school committees gave their valuable suggestions for the welfare of students and uplift the education system.
The vote of thanks was presented by Zonal Education Officer, Marh Ram Rakha. Others who spoke on the occasion were Madan Lal Sharma Principal HSS Gole Gujral, Sarpanch Prit Pal Singh, Prof. R P Sharma, Headmaster of different schools, besides Committee members and staff members of the Govt. Schools.
