DC Kishtwar chairs Distt Road safety Committee meeting

Kishtwar | : To review the action taken report of the decision taken in 7th Road Safety council meeting and to ensure effective traffic management system in the district, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma Tuesday chaired a meeting of concerned officers here at his office chamber.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Kishtwar Sham Lal, ACR Kishtwar Akhter Hussain Qazi,ACD Kishore Singh Katoch, Dy SP HQ Satish Kumar, ARTO Kishtwar Ramesh Kumar,DTI Kishtwar Nishant Ahmed, EO MC Kishtwar Tariq Balwan besides other members of committee.
During the meeting, DC took a detailed review of the action taken on the decision of the 7th Road safety Council viz-a-viz Identification of Black Spots/Accidental Prone areas for taking corrective measures, repair and installation of crash barriers, parapets, overhead bridges and road signage, removal of encroachments from footpath and roads across the district.
The DC asked the concerned to coordinate in streamlining the traffic management to evade traffic congestion in the district.
He also directed the concerned authorities to install proper signage boards in the accident prone areas.
Besides, he directed to take stringent action against the shopkeepers, vendors and others for indulging in road encroachments and creating impediments for smooth plying of vehicles.
Moreover, Police and Municipal Committee authorities were instructed to remove vendors from road sides and footpaths particularly in congested market places.
The DC enjoined upon all the officers to play a proactive role in implementing the road safety action plan for the district.
