Kathua: Education deptt organises awareness prog on empowerment of Girls

Kathua | : An awareness programme Girls’ Empowerment program was Tuesday organized here in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Forelain, Zone Barnoti.
The Programme was sponsored by Samagra Shiksha Under the agies of “Beti Bachao Beti Padao”.
Pinki Devi (Sarpanch Forelain ) was the Chief Guest of the event. She along with panch members, SMDC members graced the occasion. Dr Reva Chouhan (Medical officer, PHC Bakhta) was the guest of honour. Shish Paul Singh (Retired Lect.) was the special guest of the event.
Besides the guests, eight students of 9th, 10th, and 12th classes also threw light on the various facets of Girl Empowerment. All the eight Participants were presented with cash prizes by the chief guests.
The SMDC members, Chello Ram (Retired Principal), Dr Karan Singh (Sr. Lect.) and Rohini Devi (Teacher) also spoke on the dire need for empowerment of girls.
Pankaj Kohli (Lecturer) and Dr Rajinder Singh (Master) anchored the program. The program was also assisted by Dr. Suresh kumar Sharma ( Lecturer) and other staff members of the school .A lunch was served to all at the end of the event. All the covid-19 guidelines were followed while celebrating this event. Mangat Ram Sharma (Principal) presented the vote of thanks.
