Marginal farmer provided tractor under SMAM scheme

Ramban | : District Development Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam, along with President Municipal Council Ramban Sunita Submria, today handed over a tractor to a marginal farmer under Centrally Sponsored Sub Mission on Agriculture Mechanization (SMAM) Scheme being implemented by Agriculture Department.
Chief Planning Officer, Dr. Kasturi Lal; Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Ashwani Kumar, SCA, JAEO and several other officers of different departments were present on the occasion.
The keys of the Tractor were presented to the beneficiary Sadam Hussain of Thatharka, Sangaldan.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Ramban informed that the agriculture machinery is being provided to the marginal farmers on 50% subsidized rates to enable them to enhance agriculture production at a low labour cost.
He further stated that 20 power tillers have been distributed among the beneficiaries till date in addition to chaff cutters and poly-green houses under different centrally sponsored schemes and UT CAPEX budget.
