DDC Shopian tours town, Inspects Developmental Works

Shopian : District Development Commissioner (DDC), Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya Saturday undertook tour of various areas of the town to inspect pace of developmental works, traffic jamming and encroachments in the town and also to bring improvement in traffic jamming.
Accompanied by, Tehsildar Shopian, ARTO, Secretary, Municipal Committee and other concerned Officers, the DDC inspected, Public Park, Sheikhpora, and directed Secretary Municipal Committed to complete the developmental works within a stipulated time frame and emphasized for activating their developmental activities to facilitate the Youth to play in the said park and inspected physical progress of developmental works.
While inspecting the pace of developmental works, the DDC instructed the concerned executing agency to work with dedication to ensure timely completion of the works so that people of the area are benefitted.
The DDC also instructed the concerned officers to take measures to remove all bottlenecks and other encroachments if any in this regard.
The DDC directed the concerned implementing agency to speed up the pace of work and complete the works by December 2021 so that the whole system in Shopian is further improved.
Earlier, while taking the pace of work being carried out in the town, the DDC directed the concerned to remove all bottlenecks to improve the regulation of traffic movement on various routes of the town.
DDC inspected various areas of town to assess Traffic scenario.
DDC directed Tehsildar and ARTO for formulating and a comprehensive plan for ensuring plying of Auto Rakhshas from each Sumo stand of the town to avoid traffic jamming and facilitating the people.
Taking cognizance of the complaints from the public and strong notice of nuisance of wrong parking, roadside encroachments on town roads, the DDC undertook a surprise inspection of various town roads and assessed traffic scenario. He directed the concerned authorities to expedite the process of the same to ensure hassle-free traffic movement and also to ensure smooth ply of traffic and people may not feel any inconvenience.
DDC also stressed that civic sense and driving sense is imperative in better traffic management and appealed to all stakeholder to put in collective efforts to overcome traffic jams and decongest shopian town for smooth traffic regulation.
DDC directed the authorities to conduct a massive and intensified encroachment drive on a daily basis against wrong parking and roadside encroachments in Shopian town for visible improvement in the traffic system.
DDC directed traffic police, ARTO, Revenue and MC authorities to work in close coordination and act tough against traffic rules violators, who cause a lot of inconvenience to common people.
DDC visited Gagron, Zero Point, Batapora and other adjoining areas and took stock of the traffic movement.
Later, DDC visited Peerpora Keegam Shopian, interacted with the people, listened to their demand and issues and directed the concerned for redressal of their grievances on spot.
