Jammu |: Police on Thursday said that it has rescued 14 bovine animals and also arrested two accused at Jhajjar Kotli in Jammu district.
In a statement issued on Thursday police said that in a drive against bovine smuggling, Jammu Police rescued 14 bovine animals in a vehicle during naka checking at Suketar naka under the jurisdiction of PS Jhajjar Kotli, stating therein further that one vehicle bearing Registration No. JK02AP/1279 was also seized.
Stating that a case FIR 187/2021 U/S 188 IPC and 11 PCA Act was registered at P/S Jhajjar Kotli and investigation initiated, police in it’s statement further said that two persons namely Showkat Hussain S/O Nazir Hussain R/O Salonia Tehsil Mandi District Poonch and Liyaqat Ali S/O Mirwaz R/O Dangakot Reasi were arrested, stating therein further that the arrests and recoveries were made by SHO P/S Jhajjar Kotli Inspr. Devinder Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh and further investigation of the case is going on.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police said District Police Jammu is striving hard and taking every possible step to curb the bovine smuggling menace and sought support from the people to share information about bovine smuggling with police for timely intervention for the cause
