DDC Chairperson holds Public Darbar at Kawhar B’la, reviews developmental works

B’la | : Chairperson District Development Council Baramulla, Safina Baig on Thursday said that the Government is committed to uplift the socio-economic status of the people living in far off, hilly and tribal areas of Baramulla district by providing equal opportunities of development in these areas.
During her one day visit to Panchayat Halqa Kawhar in Narwah Block, the DDC Chairperson conducted a public darbar and met various delegations who apprised her of various issues of public importance.
ACD Yar Ali Khan, CEO G M Lone, Chief Agriculture Officer Baramulla, BDO Narwah, officials of R&B, Jal Shakti, Agriculture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry departments and other concerned officials were also present during the public darbar .
The DDC chairperson gave on spot directions to the concerned officers for timely redressal of public grievances besides resolving many on the spot.
Sarpanch Halqa Kawhar, Nusrat Bano apprised DDC Chairperson with regard to various demands which include development of Kawahar Balla as Eco Tourism Spot, sanctioning of Kawahar Balla- Payeen road under NABARD and construction of Gallbal Kawahar Balla road.
She also demanded sanctioning of the Health Sub Center at Kawahar Bala and construction of a High School Building in the area.
Delegations of the said area demanded an extension office of Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department at Kawahar Bala mentioning that the majority of the people earn their livelihood upon rearing livestock.
On the occasion, the locals also demanded a filtration Plant at Kawahar Balla.
After listening the public demands and various issues, the DDC Chairperson said that district administration is already aware of the basic requirements of the people of this Kandi Area, adding that their demands of macadamisation of roads and construction of lanes and drains will be taken up on priority in the next financial year.
DDC Chairperson also directed the officials of RDD department and others to accelerate the developmental tempo in the area and ensure timely completion of ongoing works in the halqa.
She stressed upon the officers and officials to work with utmost dedication and honesty in this far flung and mountainous Panchayat Halqa.
Various other public deputations and individuals also called on DDC Chairperson and apprised her about the developmental issues of their respective areas. The DDC chairperson heard them patiently and assured full support.
