Armed Forces Flag DayEvents held across Jammu Divn to express solidarity with brave hearts

Jammu : Armed Forces Flag Day events were held across Jammu division amid tribute paying events held to express solidarity with the valiant soldiers and contribute towards the flag fund.
At Doda: District Administration Doda observed Armed Forces Flag Day as the officers led by Deputy Commissioner Vikas Sharma saluted the valiant soldiers and commended the armed forces for maintaining peace in the country and guarding the borders against the enemy. Earlier, Zila Sainik Welfare Officer Wing Commander Tirath Singh along with his team visited the Deputy Commissioner’s Office and briefed the officers about the Armed forces Flag Day and its importance.The DC expressed solidarity with the valiant personnel of the Armed Forces and indomitable spirit shown by their families,
At Kathua: District Administration Kathua observed Armed Forces Flag Day with patriotic zeal and fervor.To mark the occasion, the District and sectoral Officers, NCC cadets, Ex-servicemen and officials of Zila Sainik Welfare Board, Kathua assembled in the DC Office where Deputy Commissioner Rahul Yadav threw light on the importance of Armed Forces Flag Day.The DC exhorted upon all those present to contribute generously towards the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund as the same will be spent for a noble cause. He also called for generating a handsome corpus by motivating all citizens to give a befitting gesture towards our Armed Forces.On the occasion, cadets and officials pinned and distributed flags in exchange for the donation to instill a sense of responsibility and pride among the citizens.
At Ramban: District Administration Ramban observed Armed Forces Flag Day to collect funds for the welfare of soldiers and families of ex-servicemen & martyrs. At the District Headquarter, the Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam, along with DDC Councilor, Renuka Katoch, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal, CPO, Dr. Karturi Lal, ACD, ACR and several other Senior Officers, staff members, students and Public paid tributes to the martyr soldiers.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that all country men should respect brave soldiers of the nation and take initiative for the welfare of families of ex-servicemen & martyrs. The DC impressed upon the officers to resolve issues of the Ex-servicemen on priority basis to acknowledge their contribution for the safety and security of the great Indian nation. While distributing flags in red, deep blue, and light blue signifying the three services of Indian Military Forces in exchange for donations, the ADC said that Flag Day is a moment for Indians to express their gratitude to Indian Armed Forces as well as to remember those who died while serving their nation.Meanwhile, a seminar on Armed Forces Flag Day was also organized in which students of different schools and guest speakers highlighted the importance of the day.Budding Singer of Ramban Manisha Mehra sang a patriotic song in her melodious voice which filled the air with patriotic spirit. At Kishtwar: In connection with the Armed Forces Flag Day, a voluntary fund collection drive was launched by the district Administration Kishtwar in collaboration with the NCC and NSS cadets of GDC Kishtwar. The drive was held across the district under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner Ashok Sharma.The main programme was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner at Conference Hall Complex which was attended by ADDC, Sham Lal; ADC, Kishori Lal Sharma; ACR Kishtwar Akhter Hussain Qazi and other officers.Besides NCC officer GDC Kishtwar Madhu Balla ,NSS officer Ajay Kumar and Sonoma Sen alongwith the cadets also attended the programme.The DC Kishtwar highlighted the importance of Armed Forces Flag Day and briefed the cadets about the mode of collecting the funds from different departments and from the civilians in market places. The accounts officers DC office Kishtwar Imran Ahmed Kichloo informed that a total amount of Rs 60,000 was contributed by the civil society and offices as a token of respect to the sacrifice of the Armed forces.
At Poonch: Armed Forces Flag Day was observed at Zila Sainik Welfare Board Office where Deputy Commissioner Inder Jeet was the chief guest on the occasion.The programme began with the hoisting of Tricolor by the Chief Guest followed by singing of the National Anthem.Speaking on the importance of Flag Day, the Deputy Commissioner urged the countrymen to contribute generously towards the Armed Forces Flag Day fund and support the welfare of ex-servicemen and their families. He said invaluable sacrifices of the defence forces cannot be repaid, but we must strive hard to look after them in their hour of need.He observed that Armed Forces Flag Day was an important occasion for remembering the valiant soldiers who had sacrificed their lives for protecting the territorial integrity of the nation.Haroon Rathore and Darshan Bharti conducted the proceedings of the programs and extended vote of thanks to the audience.
At Reasi: District Administration Reasi celebrated Armed Forces Flag day with the members of Zila Sainik Welfare Board, War Veterans and Ex-servicemen.The programme was organized in District Administrative Complex Reasi where Deputy Commissioner, Charandeep Singh honoured retired defence personnel and extended warm wishes of Armed Forces Flag Day to the people and Armed Forces personnel.Earlier, NCC students along with staff of the DC complex distributed Flags and collected donations. Students of GHSS, Reasi and NCC cadets also participated in the programme and presented beautiful poems in the memory of our Martyrs.Speaking on the occasion, DC said that Armed Forces Flag Day is observed to commemorate our Martyrs and express solidarity with the soldiers, who protect the nation from every challenge from the enemy. He said that the day gains more significance as it is the responsibility of the countrymen to take care of the families and dependents of the Armed Forces Personnel. He stressed upon all the officers and public to contribute generously towards the cause which will be a gesture and honour to all those who laid their lives for the country.He further stated that District Administration, Reasi will always be ready to address and resolve the issues of serving as well as retired defence personnel on priority.
