Board of Directors meet held at KVK Budgam

Bugam : Board of Directors meeting for two FPOs under the name ‘Sheikh Ul Alam’ and ‘Umeed Ki Kiran’ in Block Budgam and Block B.K Pora respectively was held at KVK Budgam.
The meeting was chaired by Director Extension SKUAST-K, Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi.
The meeting was organized as part of formation of two FPOs in District Budgam for which KVK Budgam has been selected as CBBO (Cluster based business organization) by NCDC, National Cooperative Development Corporation, Govt of India.
The meeting started with the welcome address by Dr. Ambreen Nabi (Scientist Vegetable Science). Dr. Naseer Ahmad Dar, Senior Scientist & Head KVK Budgam presented an introductory address.
Further Director Extension, Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi administered the Oath ceremony to the Board of Directors.
Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi put emphasis on Atmanirbhar Bharat, a vision of the Prime Minister of making India a self-reliant nation. He further advised the Board of Directors to work in missionary spirit mode under the umbrella of FPO for the benefit of the farming community.
He also stressed upon the need to reduce post harvest losses in the agriculture sector through processing, value addition, packaging, labeling, Branding and developing a marketing linkage.
Dr. Rafiya Munshi (Scientist Home Science) presented a brief overview about the inception of FPOs and its future plan of action.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Dr. Mir Nadeem Hassan (Scientist Animal Science).
