Srinagar: In connection with Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations , Directorate of Physical Education and Sports , Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University kick started series of sports event in the University Campus. Prof. Akbar Masood, Vice Chancellor of the University declared open the sports event in the University . Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Akbar emphasized on the importance of incorporating sports with academics for the holistic growth and development of the students. Prof. Akbar said that we must strive hard to build and create athletes in our country who will make our nation proud.
Meanwhile, the VC interacted with the players participated in the event. The Vice Chancellor lauded the efforts of the Directorate of Physical Education and Sports for organising the event. In the series of events , vollyball tournament commenced today with first match played between department of Management studies and Department of Civil Engineering. The match was won by Civil Engineering department by 2-1.
