Jammu/Nov, 27: Sarla Devi, Member of the Senior Women’s Team of J&K that recently participated in the National Tournament at Kolkata and Bangalore has been selected by the BCCI Selectors to participate in Senior Women’s Challenger Trophy Tournament to be played at Vijaywada from 04th December, 2021 to 09th December, 2021 Sarla Devi is an accomplished All- Rounder and displayed her All-Round talent in the just concluded Tournament. She excelled with the ball as well as the bat thus displaying magnificent All Round performance. Her talent caught the eyes of the National Selectors because of which she has been selected in the India B Squad for the Challenger’s Trophy. Sarla Devi in a brief statement and displaying her happiness on being selected at the National Level said “Today I am very glad to know that I am selected for India B level challenger trophy. I show my gratitude and thankfulness towards my coach Mrs. Veena Sharma and J&K association and all the Members of Association and Management. They conducted different tournaments and
practice matches, it is overall wonderful experience to be part of J&K team. They have given us the best coaching.” She will be leaving to join the India B team at Vijaywada on 29th November, 2021. The Sub Committee Members of JKCA, Roopali Slathia- Member CAC, Surabhi Dadheechi- Senior Selector congratulated her on phone. In this congratulatory message to Sarla Devi
Brig. Anil Gupta- Member Administration JKCA said “The Owners lies on you now to prove the strides of Women Cricket has taken in J&K”. It is for the first time that J&K Players have been chosen in all the three challenger’s trophy Tournaments held during this season by BCCI stated Mithun Manhas, Member Cricket Operations & Development JKCA. Sunil Sethi, Member Legal JKCA, hoped that the performance of players like Sarla Devi will motivate other players and spur them to perform well for the team in the coming
Tournaments.
