Jammu : Legal Services Authority of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh Friday celebrated the 72nd Constitution Day by organizing series of activities across the Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh.
The celebration commenced with reading of preamble to the Constitution of India at all the headquarters of Legal Services Institutions in J&K and Ladakh. The preamble was read by the Chairpersons of DLSAs (Principal District and Session Judges) in presence of all the officers and officials of the court and DLSA.
DLSA Srinagar in collaboration with Department of Law, Kashmir University, organized a special lecture on “Rule of Law and Constitution”. Besides, DLSA Bandipora organized a webinar on fundamental rights and duties while DLSA Ganderbal organized a legal awareness camp to commemorate the Constitution Day.
Similarly, DLSA Reasi organized a quiz competition at Government High School Kheral, Zone Pouni, Reasi and DLSA Kathua conducted a legal awareness camp at village Logate to mark the Day.
Member Secretary, J&K LSA, M K Sharma, while speaking on the occasion, said that just as the fundamental rights are imperative for progress of a nation, so are the fundamental duties.
The programmes were attended by the Judicial Officers, Panel Lawyers and PLVs besides other concerned.
