DC Reasi reviews progress of Tribal Sub Plan works, Sets timeline for registration of workers under E-Shram

K H News Service
Reasi/Nov, 26: District Development Commissioner Reasi, Charandeep Singh Friday chaired a meeting to review the physical and financial progress under Tribal Sub Plan in the district .
The DDC also reviewed the progress made in starting the development of model Tribal Cluster Villages approved for the district and implementation of beneficiary oriented schemes.
It was informed that two Model Tribal Cluster village projects comprising Kanskansan, Bidda, Jadd, Shapur, Patta, Kheral and Talwara villages at a cost of Rs. 2.56 crore and another Model Cluster Tribal Village comprising Budhan , Thuroo, Kanthi and Matlote vilave costing Rs. 2.09 crore have been approved for the district for which Detail Project Reports are being formulated.
Issues pertaining to bottlenecks hampering execution of works and delay in the submission of the DPR were also discussed in detail.
Charandeep Singh stressed on adhering to guidelines of Tribal department while preparing the DPR for model Cluster Village.
The DDC also stressed on judicious use of funds under Tribal Plan. He asked for incorporating all three components, viz 40% from Govt. of India as a Centre share, 30% from Tribal Department as a State share and 30% from departmental share.
On same line DDC Reasi also reviewed the progress of registration of unorganized workers on E-Shram portal. He said that this scheme reflects the intent of the government to extend the concept of Universal Basic Income by implementing social security schemes. Under this the workers will get an e-shram card which has a twelve digit UAN number.
He directed ALC Reasi and district Manager CSCs to chart out a detailed action plan within a week’s time for registration of the workers. He solicited support from civil society members and from social activists to extend support for this noble cause.
It was informed that the registration under the scheme can be done either by self registration by visiting e-SHRAM portal on https://register.eshram.gov.in or through CSCs.
The documents required for the registration on e-shram portal are Aadhaar Card, Aadhar linked active mobile number and Bank Account details. The registration on the portal is free of cost and beneficiaries will receive accidental insurance coverage through PMSBY. The workers will be paid Rs 2 lakh for accidental death and permanent disability and Rs 1 lakh for partial disability.
The portal will not only provide social security benefits but will also assist the government to help all the eligible unorganised workers in case of pandemic or calamities. It will also help to keep a track record of the migrant labour workforce and will pave a path for more job opportunity.
