Budgam: Continuing the public outreach initiative, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Budgam Wednesday held a public darbar at village Khampora Sarai of Tehsil Chadoora.
The darbar apart from locals was also attended by many deputations of adjacent villages, civil society and PRI members.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that instructions issued in public interaction programmes has brought significant confidence and change among general public, besides they now a day’s feel that District Administration with sincere desire and commitment is listening to them directly.
During the darbar, Mirza patiently took note of the issues and demands put forth by the representatives of local populace, individually as well as through deputations.
The demands were mostly based on routine requirements consisting improvement in water supply, preservation and conservation of Mughal era monument Sarai, fencing of its surroundings, making it attractive destination for tourists, in addition develop the village keeping its old and present history in view.
Responding to the issues, the DDC said special focus will be envisaged to develop the village as modern tourist destination, besides the village as it already has one of its kind Mughal era monument deserves its preservation and face lifting. The residents also need to share their responsibility and give support to administration in each of its initiative and activities to be executed, he added.
Regarding other issues, the DC assured locals that fast track redressal process will be initiated subject to weather conditions.
Later, the DDC inspected PHC Hayatpora and took stock of the status of its readiness. He directed R&B department to expedite the process of remaining construction work before the weather conditions could deteriorate further.
The officers accompanying DDC include SDM Chadoora, CEO, CMO, Ex. Engineers of PDD, Jal Shakti and R&B Chadoora and other concerned officers.
