SPMR College Jammu organises E -Mega Career Awareness Prog

Jammu : Manodarpan Placement Cell of Government SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu in collaboration with the Jammu Chapter of Institute of Company Secretaries of India organized an Online E -Mega Career Awareness Program, here Tuesday.
The Jammu Chapter of Institute of Company Secretaries of India has taken the initiative towards creating awareness amongst students, teachers & other professionals keeping in view the requirement in recent times of Company Secretary in companies & in other businesses. The virtual mode E -Mega Career Awareness Program was attended by more than 500 students & teachers from Commerce Colleges of Jammu division.
Prof. Ranjeet Singh Jamwal, Principal SPMR College formally welcomed the dignitaries and participants to the Webinar. Prof. Ranjeet Singh Jamwal highlighted that education is the milestone which can take you to the sky. He informed the student participants about the benefits of the Company Secretaries Program. He introduced the theme of the webinar and said that all efforts are being made for the successful implementation of the CS programme in the college.
The Chief Guest, Prof. Bachan Lal, Vice Chancellor of the Cluster University of Jammu, in his address, appreciated the Principal for taking the initiative of introducing CS Introduction Course for the students of the College. He advised the students to stay updated about different courses being introduced by the college and the University for their Career enhancement. Further, he wanted other colleges to promote their college as a platform for such career advancement courses.
CS Nagendra D Rao, President ICSI was the Guest of honour. He talked at length about the CS programme.
The sessions were conducted by the two keynote speakers CS Ashish Garg, Past President ICSI and Arti J. Shailendar, Assistant Director of ICSI. CS Ashish Garg took Session on Motivation
as the key to join and pursue CS. In his note he talked at length about the coordination of CS Chapter with the colleges running the CS programme.
In the second session Arti J. Shailendar talked at length on awareness of the Company Secretary program at student level and she discussed the role of Company Secretary in Company Law, Litigations, Mergers, etc. She referred to the importance of CS in ensuring fair business practices among the companies and good corporate governance.
Further, CS Ashish Garg presented the “Shaheed ki Beti” Award to the Vice Chancellor and Principal, SPMR College of commerce.
The Online Webinar was coordinated by CS Palak Arora, Past Chairperson, Jammu Chapter of ICSI.
Prominent among those present were Managing Committee members of Jammu Chapter of ICSI, Past committee members and other CS members as well. Besides the faculty of the college along with the Committee members of Manodarpan Placement Cell of the College.
The formal Vote of Thanks was presented by Prof. Archana Kaul, Convenor Manodarpan Placement Cell of the College.
