New Delhi: Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce Department, Ranjan Prakash Thakur, Thursday visited Jammu & Kashmir Pavilion at Pragati Maidan, New Dehli and inspected the exhibition organized there by the department.
He visited the stalls established by the artisans and craftsmen during the exhibition at the Pavilion being organized by the Department and also interacted with the participants.
Despite all odds due to Covid-19 pandemic, this is the first expo being organised by the Department. This year, the fair focused on promotion of GI tagged notified Kashmir products especially Kashmir Pashmina Shawls and Stoles. Different departments including Agriculture, Horticulture, Arts Emporium and Handloom Development Corporation have also set up their stalls in the Pavillion.
Principal Secretary said that the department is also planning to organize such exhibitions in various parts of the country to help clear the piled up inventory of the artisans which could not be sold due to Covid.
