Digdole road mishap: Ramban Admin launches rescue operation to evacuate victims

Ramban: District Administration, Ramban Saturday launched a joint rescue operation with the police and locals to evacuate persons missing in a tragic road accident here at Digdole.
After receiving information of the accident, Senior Superintendent of Police, Ramban PD Nitya Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harban Sharma and other senior officers of Police and civil administration along with Police, CRPF, QRT and SDRF teams rushed to the spot and started the rescue operation.
As reported by police, a sumo vehicle bearing registration number JK03 A 6391 carrying 14 people including three children, while coming from Jammu to Banihal, fell into a deep gorge at Samadhi Morh, Digdole, Ramban, Two people namely Gulzar s/o Irfan r/o UP age 19 yrs and Sameer s/o Tahir r/o UP age 24/25yrs lost their lives in the accident, while other 12 people including Jameela d/o Fayaz r/o Neel age, 7yrs, Nasir Khan s/o Arshad Khan r/o UP Hewa, age 19yrs, Aikra age 2.5yrs, Akya age 08 yrs, Ara Bano d/o Fayaz r/o Neel age 04yrs, Soib Khan s/o Akhter age 18yrs, Sohil Khan s/o Irfan Khan r/o UP, Manzoor Ahmed s/o Bashir Ahmed r/o Neel age 28yrs (driver), Mst Khaleda begum w/o Fayaz Ahmed r/o Neel age 35yrs, Arif s/o Akhter r/o UP age 22yrs, Ashu r/o UP age 35yrs and Usman s/o Akbar r/o UP age 19yrs sustained injuries in road accident. The four injured persons are under treatment in District Hospital Ramban whereas 8 have been shifted to Government Medical College, Jammu for specialized treatment.
The Addl Deputy Commissioner also directed the hospital administration to extend best-possible treatment to those injured in the accident and provide specialized treatment to those injured seriously.
