Ensure no maxi cab is allowed to operate from in & outside erstwhile GBS Batamaloo: Div Com

Srinagar: The divisional administration Kashmir has directed the concerned departments to ensure that no maxi cab (small passenger vehicles) shall be allowed to operate from in and outside erstwhile General Bus Stand Batamaloo Srinagar.
The decision was made by the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir P K Pole a day after the Transport Welfare Association headed by General Secretary appealed for immediate stop of illegal operation of Maxi Cabs from in and outside Batamaloo vicinity, besides, submitted that no Maxi Cab be allowed to cross Parimpora Bus Stand point from north and north-east areas of Kashmir division.
In the minutes of meeting the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir directed the SSP Traffic City Sgr, SSP Srinagar, Commissioner SMC, RTO Kashmir and SRTC to ensure that the court directions with regard to the subject matter shall be complied and implemented in letter and spirit by all the stake holding departments without any fail.
SSP Traffic City Sgr, SSP Srinagar and RTO Kashmir have been directed to ensure that no maxi cab shall be allowed to operate from in & outside erstwhile General Bus Stand Batamaloo Srinagar from forthwith.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir directed that Srinagar Development Authority in consultation with RTO Kashmir and SSP Traffic City shall immediately do the access cutting of the erstwhile General Bus Stand Batamaloo by digging the deep trenches so that no vehicle is able to go inside.
“Deputy Commissioner Srinagar shall immediately ensure potholing of the roads inside the Parimpora Bus Stand. Commissioner, SMC shall ensure rigorous sanitization drives of the Parimpora Bus Stand in addition to routine cleanliness. Besides, immediate installation of street lights in the Parimpora Bus Stand,” it further reads.
Srinagar Development Authority shall frame a self sustaining model for Parimpora Bus Stand for repairs of the toilets, drinking water tapes, medians of roads etc, within the bus stand, it said, adding that SRTC is not allowed to operate from the Erstwhile General Bus Stand Batamaloo and shall also ensure operation of their bus fleets from Parimpora/Panthachowk Srinagar only
