DDC Srinagar finalises Action Plan for dev of Cluster Tribal Model Villages

Rs.10 Cr plan being implemented with focus on infra, Income generation

Srinagar:The District Development Commissioner Srinagar (DDC), Mohammad Aijaz Asad Wednesday chaired an officers meeting to finalise the Draft Action Plan for Development of Cluster Tribal Model Village at Fakir Gujri, Dara and Mulnar in Srinagar District.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress with regard to the formulation of DPRs for the Development of Cluster Model Villages from the concerned officers of different Departments. He directed them to submit the DPRs for the projects within three days so that work can be started within the shortest possible time and the target population could be benefited.
The DDC said Rs.10 Crore plan is being implemented with focus on infrastructure and Income generation. He stressed that focus should be laid on developmental programmes with reference to resolution of impinging issues and increasing income generation.
He further said that the Cluster Tribal Model Village is being developed to provide modern basic amenities and promote Education, Health, Skill Development, Horticulture, Agriculture, Tourism in the areas selected for funding by the Tribal Affairs department so that they can have better basic amenities and opportunities to improve their socio-economic conditions.
During the meeting, the DDC reviewed works under Education, Health, PDD, PHE, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Agriculture, Rural Development and PWD sectors pertaining to the Development of Cluster Tribal Model Village.
The DDC directed that all Tribal Schools in Srinagar district be upgraded to Smart Model Schools by upgraded infrastructure and equipping them with modern gadgets. He also emphasised on establishing Model Mushroom income generating units under the scheme in these Model villages.
The DDC also directed all the concerned departments to gear up their men and machinery to execute all the remaining works and adopt a convergence method for judicious use of allotted funds.
Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Yaseen Lone, Assistant Commissioner Development, Bilal Mukhtar, Chief Education Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Executive Engineer R&B, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Assistant Director Handicrafts and other concerned were present in the meeting
