About 3012 girls and boys from different private and government schools actively participated in these rallies across J&K. Banners and placards with the messages and captions like “Unity is Itself A Power- Don’t Underestimate it”, “United We Stand, Divided We Fall” etc were displayed by the enthusiastic participants on motor bikes and cycles .

While talking about the importance of unity day and the events which were organized by the Department of Youth Services & Sports , Director of the Department said, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas reminds us of the great and crucial role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He said, “As India celebrates Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, it is our responsibility to build the India envisioned by our national leaders. In this journey towards Atmanirbhar Bharat, NMDC is playing a pivotal role in meeting the infrastructure needs of the country.”

During the event youths were also educated on the role of ‘Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’ in the integration of modern India.

The day not only commemorates the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the architect of national integration of independent India, but also re-affirms the inherent strength and resilience of the nation to withstand threats to the unity, integrity and security.

Secretary JK Sports Council, in her address, stated that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s will and determination, his excellent negotiation skills and various strategies enabled to unite the 565 self-governing princely states post-independence into a unified India.
