Swayam Rozgar Mela concludes at Jammu Haat

Jammu: Four day “Swayam Rozgar Mela” held from October 27 to October 30, 2021 concluded saturday here at ‘Jammu Haat’, Exhibition Ground, Jammu.
During the Mela 350 inquiries were sorted out and 25 individuals were registered on the spot.
The said mela was organised by District Industries Centre, Jammu to facilitate the unemployed youths to avail loans under “Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme [PMEGP]” to start their ventures under the Manufacturing and Service Sectors.
Speaking at the valedictory function, General Manager, District Industries Centre, Jammu, Subah Mehta appreciated the efforts of the staff of DIC for making the mela a successful event. She informed that during the previous year, 156 cases were recommended to various Banks for different activities involving an amount of Rs. 1472.91 Lakh. Among them, 102 cases were sanctioned involving the subsidy/margin money amounting to Rs. 223.88 lakh.
She appealed the unemployed youths to come forward to avail the golden opportunity to start their ventures by getting the finance from the Banks under the “Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme [PMEGP]” under which the prospective entrepreneurs can avail the loans up to Rs 10.00 lakh under service sector and Rs. 25.00 Lakh under manufacturing sector involving the margin money (subsidy) ranging from 15% to 35%.
She reiterated that the applicant/candidate shall be of minimum 18 years age and 8th standard pass, while the minimum documents required are Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport Size Photographs- 2 Nos., Detailed Project Report (DPR), Highest education Qualification Certificate, Rural Area Certificate – attested by Sarpanch (in case of Rural Area Units) and Category Certificate-SC/ST/OBC/Handicapped/Ex-serviceman (if any).
Moreover, the beneficiary under this scheme becomes eligible for expansion of the previous PMEGP unit for up to Rs. 25 Lakh in the Service Sector and Rs. 1 Crore in the Manufacturing Sector after adjustment of Margin Money claim (subsidy) and repayment of the first loan within stipulated time. She also highlighted the various schemes being launched by the State/Central Government under the new package of incentives – 2021.
