Srinagar /Oct, 28 : JK Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) has strongly condemned the thrashing and humiliation of Naib Tehsildar Chilli Pingal, Doda by a DDC member Mehraj Malik.

In a strong worded statement President EJAC Mohd Rafique Rather in a statement issued on Thursday said that the way a government official is assaulted and humiliated by a DDC member in full public view has shocked entire employees fraternity of Jammu Kashmir, who feel insecure while working in such a hostile environment.

Rafique Rather said that in the video which has gone viral DDC member seems to be taking law in to his hands while catching the officials collar and dragging him in presence of his subordinates which he called shameful and disgusting.
Rather said that DDC member need to understand that there is a law to deal with the laxity if any shown by a government official and there is no place for “gunda gardi” in a civilized society as displayed by the said DDC member and added that such a rude attitude is unacceptable and unfortunate as well.
Rafique Rather said that government employees are already stressed and over burdened by working in adverse working conditions during COVID and other wise and such uncalled for incidents will add to their stress and anxiety and added that if such incidents are not stoped immediately it will badly affect the working in government offices with the result public will suffer enormously for no fault of theirs.
President EJAC said that public representatives ought to help government officials in dealing with the public issues instead of assaulting and humiliating them for their undue personal benefits. He said that EJAC will not be a mute spectator to such unruly behaviour and will come on roads to protest against such arrogant so called public representatives who are hell bent to disturb the smooth working in government offices by resorting to highhandedness.
Rafique Rather said that entire leadership of EJAC and employees fraternity of Jammu Kashmir vehemently express displeasure and condemn the act strongly.
Rather urged Jk Government to initiate legal action against the erring DDC member so that such incidents are not repeated in future.
He also assured the victim Mr.Tasleem NT Chilli, that EJAC stands by him till the guilty is brought to the justice.
