Shopian: The District Administration Shopian headed by Deputy Commissioner (DC), Sachin Kumar Vaishya Wednesday launched a helpline here with phone number 14567 for the senior citizens facing any problem in their day- to-day life so that they will be provided help on real time basis.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmed Simnani, Dy.CMO, Tehsil Social Welfare Officers, Human Welfare Voluntary Organisation (NGO) and officials of the toll free Helpline number 14567 were present on the occasion.
The helpline will be open for the senior citizens from 8 AM to 8 PM where information, guidance, emotional support and field intervention will be provided to the senior citizens. The helpline has been launched with an aim to ensure effective redress of various problems.
Speaking in reference to it, the Deputy Commissioner said that the helpline Number in the district will now enable the senior citizens to get their problems redressed at an ease and quicker and without having to visit the DC Office. Helpline Number will also ensure a proper follow-up and quicker redress. District Administration is committed to effective redressal of public problems, the DC added.
