Poonch: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Tariq Ahmad Zargar, Monday impressed upon the officers for adopting effective & innovative measures to give boost to agriculture & its allied sectors for improving the socio-economic conditions of the people associated with it.
This was stated by DC, while chairing a meeting to review the functioning & implementation of different schemes of agriculture, horticulture, Sheep and Animal Husbandry Department here Monday.
The meeting was attended by Chief planning officer Poonch, district horticulture officer, district agriculture officer, district sheep & Animal Husbandry Officer, Assistant Director Fisheries, District Animal & Husbandry Officer.
While reviewing the progress registered under different schemes the DC stressed for organizing awareness camps in rural areas to make people aware about the policies and schemes of the government.
The DC called for providing timely vaccination and other supportive facilities to farmers so that livestock sector on which majority of population depends become a source of livelihood to the people in Poonch district.
