12 grams heroin recovered at Janipur Jammu, One peddler arrested: Police

Jammu: Police on Saturday said that it has recovered 12 grams heroin in Janipur area of Jammut city and also arrested one drug peddler in this connection.
In a statement issued on Saturday police said “Continuing it’s drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu Police achieved major success by recovering 12 grams of heroin from one drug peddler”.

Stating that a naka was laid by police teams of PS Janipur constituted under the supervision of SDPO West Rahul Nagar, whereby dedicated police teams of PS Janipur led by SHO PS Janipur Inspr. Nayat Ali rounded up a suspect who turned suspicious on seeing police naka, police in the above referred statement further said that on search, 12 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of a suspect later identified as Kunaal Dogra S/o Romash kumar Dogra R/o 6/A Basant Nagar Janipur, adding therein that a Case FIR No 114/2021 u/s 8/21/22 got registered at P/S Janipur and accused got arrested.

Stating that further investigation of the case is going on, police in the concluding para of it’s statement said “ Jammu police has started to work on backward linkages i.e from where exactly drugs had been procured and the forward linkages also i.e where the drugs were to be delivered, adding that “Intensive questioning is going on to know about their other accomplices in the crime”.

Stating that Jammu Police is striving hard and taking every possible step to make people especially youth aware to eradicate drug menace, police in the above quoted statement appealed people of the area to come forward and share information about drug peddling or consumption on 9086100100 or 100 with Police for the cause, assuring therein that the identity of those sharing information with the police will be kept confidential.
