Iconic Week Festival aimed to tap full tourism potential of Jammu region: Div Com (J)

Jammu: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer on Saturday reviewed the arrangements being put in place to celebrate Iconic Week Festivals – here at a meeting with Deputy Commissioners and Heads of concerned departments.
Pertinently, as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (India @75), the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has planned to celebrate Iconic Week Festivals in J&K from October 23 till October 29, 2021 for which an order has already been issued by General Administration Department. The initiative is also aimed at boosting the economic and tourism activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
Various activities have been finalized to be held in the different districts/ tourist destinations which include cultural programs, literary fests, food festivals, sports events, talent hunt shows, illuminations of parks, bike rallies, Sham E Ghazal, Golf Tournament, Bollywood nights, local cuisine festivals, exhibitions, etc.
The Div Com discussed each activity and the concerned nodal department apprised about the arrangements being put in place by their respective department.
The Div Com directed the Deputy Commissioners and Heads of concerned departments to put in place all necessary arrangements well in advance for smooth conduct of the events. He also instructed the officers to work in close coordination for making the occasion a grand success.
Earlier, the Div Com held a meeting with the President Chamber of Commerce, Presidents of Market associations, hotel associations, prominent citizens and sought their suggestions for organizing different activities.
All the invitees gave their valuable suggestions to make the Iconic Week Festivals a memorable event.
The meeting was attended by CEO Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Director Tourism Jammu besides senior officers of JKTDC, Cultural Academy, Information, Handicrafts, CEOs of Development Authorities and other concerned while Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division along with other concerned officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.
