Drug peddler arrested in Ang, contraband substances recovered: Police

Srinagar Police in Anantnag on Saturday said that it has arrested a drug peddler and recovered huge quantity of contraband substances from his possession.
In a statement issued here on Saturday police said “Police Station Bijbehara received a specific information wherein it was stated that a person namely Mudasir Ahmad Ganie son of Abdul Ahad Ganie resident of Kandipora Bijbehara has indulged in drug peddling and has hoarded a huge quantity of narcotic substance in his residential house”.
Stating that on receiving inputs a Police party under the supervision of SDPO Bijbehara alongwith Executive Magistrate raided the specific location and during searches 1.1Kg of Charas and 52Kgs of Cannabis leaves were recovered from the said residential house, police in it’s statement further said that the accused has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
In theconcluded para of its above referred statement police said that a case vide FIR No. 268/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Bijbehara and further investigation has been initiated.
