NC greets people on eve of Khwaja Digar, Seek facilities for devotees at Naqshband Sahib (RA) Shrine

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Party President, Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah have greeted people on the auspicious occasion of Khwaja Dighar to be offered at the revered Shrine of Naqshband Sahib(RA) Shrine at Khawaja Bazaar in Srinagar on third of Rabi Ul Awal.

In his message Dr Farooq said that the centuries old practice of offering congregational Asr prayers at the third of Rabi-Ul –Awal at the revered shrine of Naqshband Sahib (RA) has for been the part and parcel of the socio-cultural life of Kashmiris, who offer prayers and supplications on that day. On this eve the scholars recall the spiritual, scholarly and literary achievements of Hazrat Khawaja Baha Ud Din Naqshband Bukhari (RA), whom the people of Kashmir hold in highest esteem. I hope the day increase the prospects of peace, properity and communal harmony in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

Omar Abdullah while greeting the people said, “Spiritual and religious observances like Khawaja Dighar resuscitate the unique cultural identity of Kashmiris, premised on brotherhood and spiritualism. I pray that the auspicious eve acts as harbinger of peace, prosperity and amity in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

Among others Party General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Additional General Secretary Dr. Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Senior Leaders Mubarak Gul, Mian Altaf Ahmed, Muhammad Syed Akhoon, Party MPs Muhammad Akbar Lone, Hassnain Masoodi; Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar, District President Srinagar Peer Afaq Ahmed have also greeted the people on the auspicious eve of Khawaja Dighar.
