DDC Kathua reviews performance of Banks at DLRC meeting

Bankers asked to increase CD ratio, ensure hassle free mechanism for clearance of Self employment scheme proposals

Kathua: To review the flow of credit and performance of banks, District Development Commissioner, Kathua Rahul Yadav Tuesday chaired District Level Review Committee (DLRC)/ DCC/ DLAC meeting here at Conference Hall of DC Complex.
The meeting held a detailed deliberation on key areas related to deposits, advances under priority sector, Government Sponsored Schemes, lending for the quarters ending June 30, 2021 and performance of RSETI, Kathua.
The DDC Kathua, who is also Chairman, DLRC reviewed the achievement of CD ratio targets, cases under KCC, New KCC( Dairy, Poultry, Fisheries and Sheep Husbandry), PMEGP – KVIB / KVIC / DIC / NULM, NRLM Handloom / Handicraft, PMAY with special emphasis on credit linkage of beneficiaries under these schemes.
He emphasized upon banks to simplify the system and procedure so that maximum beneficiaries are credit linked under various schemes for generation of employment. He counseled the officers of banks and Government departments to show empathy towards poverty stricken people to ensure the achievement of the set targets.
The Chairman advised all departments and banks to focus on awareness programmes for dissemination of information among general public/farmers/skilled persons to encourage them to set up new units of economic activities. He impressed upon the banks and line departments to ensure effective coordination in their working.
The chairman exhorted upon the banks to exploit all resources at their disposal and come out with a concrete action plan to increase present CD-ratio of 44.22 % to minimum 60% by the end of next quarter of 2021-22.
The DDC advised all banks to cover maximum number of persons with 100% penetration under social security schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Suraksha Bima Yojana, Jeevan Jyoti Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana and to issue Rupay Debit Cards to all eligible a/c holders.
The DDC also advised to organize special awareness camps for social welfare schemes with the active participation of banks and departments. He also advised banks not to obtain collateral security/guarantee from the applicants where it is not necessary to be obtained.
The remarks of the LDO RBI, Neeraj Kumar Arora received through mail were also read out during the meeting.
Later, the DDC chaired a meeting of the Local Advisory Committee of RSETI for the quarter ending June 2021. The DDC advised all the bankers to sanction the RSETI sponsored loan applications on priority basis.
Earlier, LDM Kathua, Qazi Farooq presented the achievements under Annual Action Plan for the year 2021-22 and informed the house that Rs 147.93 crore has been disbursed under priority sector and Rs 126.04 crore under non-priority sector, thereby recording 11.99% achievement under ACP as on 30.06.2021. Further, under social security schemes 194339 accounts were opened under PMJDY, 7279 individuals were covered under Atal Pension Yojana, 52562 individuals under Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, 101879 individuals under Suraksha Bima Yojana and 21057 accounts opened under PMMY as on June 30, 2021.

Gupta Sheep Husbandry; S. Harvinder Singh (KVIB); Masqeen Babu, DIC; Subash Chander FLC SBI; Showkat Ganie NRLM; Pardeep Shah Handlooms and other concerned officers from Banks and Govt departments were also present.
