Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in South Kashmir’s Awantipora area and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday police said that a police party of Police Post Reshipora at a checkpoint established at Kawani Crossing Awantipora intercepted a suspicious person identified as Sheeraz Ahmad Bhat son of Sona-ul-Lah Bhat resident of Kawani and upon checking recovered 20 kilograms of grinded cannabis concealed in two nylon bags from his possession following which he was arrested and shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody.
In the concluding para of it’s above reffered statement police said that, a case vide FIR number 169/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Awantipora and investigation has been taken up.
