NIT Srinagar hosts session on ‘Corporate Diaries with Fariya Tahir’

Session was aimed to provide in-depth practical knowledge about the market trends: Prof. Sehgal

Srinagar: The Department of Training and Placements, National Institute of Technology (NIT) on Monday in continuation with its special talk series organized a special session named, “Corporate Diaries with Fariya Tahir”. The session was attended by more than 150 students.
Director NIT Srinagar, Prof Rakesh Sehgal said the session was aimed to provide in-depth practical knowledge about the market trends and aware the students about hiring processes in the corporate sector.
He appreciated the department of placement and training for organizing sessions on relevant topics, which are the need of the hour.
Registrar NIT, Prof Kaiser Bukhari said these events are need of the hour and they will be organizing such events in the future also.
On the occasion, Ms. Fariya Tahir, Analyst, KPMG and former Inside Sales Representatives (Microsoft) at Majorel was the guest speaker for the session. The event consisted of a 30-minute long lecture followed by a question-answer session.
She shared her experiences with the students and gave important insights and tips to the students on how to stand upon the recruiter’s expectations. Ms. Fariya also answered numerous queries and questions that the students asked in regard to corporate life, interviews, and much more.
Head Training and Placement Officer and Associate Professor, Electrical Engineering Department, Dr. Obbu Chandra Sekhar was also present on the occasion. He briefed the guest and the participants about the recent success of the Department, with more than 150 students already being placed in well-reputed companies within three months of the starting of the placement drive.
The event was attended by more than 150 B.Tech students. Dr. Tahir Wani, Dr. Muhamamd Rafiq, and Dr. Harkirat Singh were also present at the event. The event was hosted by Ms. Sanna Showkat and coordinated by the T&P Events team led by Mr. Syed Aga Hadi Riza.
While a formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Muhammad Rafiq Tel. He thanked the guests and all the students for their participation and promised many more such events in the future.
