Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee today demanded resignation of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti led PDP-BJP Government in view of its total failure to prevent the terrorists attacks on Shri Amarnath Yatries, which is clear indication of gravity of the security situation in the valley. ‘’It is a matter of grave concern over the alarming security situation in valley which is continuously worsening and the recent attack on Shri Amarnath Yatris despite all claims of all preventive security measures against any possible attempts, in the wake of open threats, is an indication of the ground situation and in-capability of the PDP-BJP government to handle Kashmir situation,’’ former minister and Senior Vice President JKPCC Sham Lal Sharma here told reporters. He was flanked by senior Congress leaders. Mr Sharma said that the attack is the result of major security lapse despite clear reports and warnings of possibility of attack on yatris, which reflects the in-ability and in-capability of mufti government to bring the situation under control which is deteriorating day by day, adding. ‘’this government has no moral right to continue in office anymore and should step down immediately to contain the situation otherwise things could be more worst.’’ The PDP-BJP Govt. has been soft peddling on terror since it assumed office in the state which brought to situation to this level, he said adding, ‘’attempts at damage control immediately after the attack, which amounts to transfer of responsibility is also questionable.’’ He also lashed out at the centre government for being mute spectator to the worsened situation in the valley and all along the border and LOC with Pakistan and China right from Kathua to Rajouri-Poonch, Uri and Ladakh region. ‘’It is the result of immature and inconsistent policy of the centre government towards Kashmir as well as our neighbours that situation has reached to this level,’’ said Mr Sharma. Former Minister Raman Bhalla described the PDP-BJP government as a total failure on all fronts especially to handle the security situation, which has gone out of control of the present State government and so long this government remain in power, situation would not normalize and this Govt must go immediately in the larger interest of State and nation and Modi Government should wake up and rise above political interest to save the situation, which is getting radicalized for the past two and half years due to wrong policies of the PDP-BJP Govt. Meanwhile Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said, ‘’local support to the militancy has increased because of the unnatural alliance and mishandling of the situation by the State and the Centre.’’
