Budgan,Srinagar: A student from central Kashmir’s Budgam district was found hanging at his hostel terrace in a college in Punjab. While J&K Congress President Gh Ahmad Mir has written a letter to Punjab Chief Minister to demand a judicial probe into the death of the student, National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Chairman Peoples’ Democratic Front Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen have expressed anguish over the death of the student.
Reports said Umer Dev, son of Abdul Ahad Dev of Chewdara Beerwah Budgam was found hanging at a hostel of RIMT University College where he was pursuing BSC Radiology. Shahid, a roommate of Umer at RIMT College said that he was missing from last evening and his body was found hanging in the morning and police have taken body from spot.A police officer confirmed and said that the family has left towards Punjab to get the body.
Meanwhile J&K Congress President Gh Ahmad Mir has written a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amrinder Singh urging him to hold a judicial probe into the death of the student. A statement of J&K Congress said that JKPCC President President has written a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Punjab Capt Amrainder Singh and expressed his anguish over the death of Budgam student in Chandigarh. JKPCC President, according to the statement stressed that a time bound judicial probe into the death of student shall ascertain the cause behind this unfortunate incident, Mir told Punjab CM in the letter. “ I was deeply saddened to learn about this shocking incident in Chandigarh and have no words to express my grief”, Mir said according to the statement and conveyed deepest condolences to the family of the deceased.
National Conference (NC) President Dr Farooq Abdullah has alsi expressed profound shock and grief over the mysterious death of Umar Ahad Dave of Chewdara, Beerwah in a Punjab college. Expressing his anguish over the incident, former Chief Minister Dr Abdullah expressed sympathies with the bereaved family members of the deceased, who as per the family has been a student of RIMT University Gobindgarh, Mandi Ludhiana Road. “I received the news with profound shock and grief. It’s heart rendering to learn about the tragic death of a promising third year BSC Radiology student. I share in the grief of the bereaved family members of the victim, particularly his parents, whose loss cannot be put into words. I share their grief and demand a time bound probe into the incident,” he said. The party president also took up the matter with the authorities in Punjab and demanded that the exact cause behind the incident be ascertained forthwith. Umar was found hanging in the college this morning, reports reaching here said.
Chairman People’s Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has also voiced concern over the mysterious killing of a Budgam student who was found hanging in a Punjab college . In a statement issued on Monday Hakeem while expressing concern over the mysterious killing of a student Umer Dev S/Of Abdul Ahad Dev of Chewdara Beerwah in a college in Punjab has sought a thorough investigation into the matter to bring the facts fore.
Stating that as per reports the student Umer was found hanging at a hostel of RIMT University college where he was pursuing B,Sc Radiology, the PDF Chairman in his above referred statement urged J&K Government to take up the matter with the Punjab government to unveil the facts about the mysterious killing of the Kashmiri student. He said sporadic killings of Kashmiri people including handicrafts vendors , fruit traders, truckers and students in some out side states have shown a spurt during the recent months which has become the cause of anxiety and panic among thier families. PDF Chairman has urged both the Central and and as well as J&K Govts to ensure safety of Kashmiri students, shawl vendors and fruit traders in various outside states of the country to regain confidence among their families .He said the latest case of hanging of the student of Chewdar Beerwa Budgam has sent shocking waves among the families of various students pursuing their studies in various colleges and universities of the country .
