DC Srinagar holds grievance redressal camp at Balhama

Srinagar: Continuing efforts of Administration to reach out to the common masses in the rural and far flung areas of the district to address their grievances, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Wednesday undertook an extensive tour of various far off areas of the district including Balhama Sempora, and other adjoining areas in Khonmoh Block and held a Grievance redressal Camp.
The tour was conducted to bring Administration at the door steps of people for on spot resolution of public issues and demands.
During the Grievance redressal camp held at Government High School Balhama, dozens of delegations besides scores of individuals met the DDC and apprised him about the problems faced by them in day to day life.
The delegations also included representatives of Panchayat Raj Institutions viz. DDC members, BDC members, Sarpanchs and Panchs of the area
The people submitted memorandum and charter of demands projecting various issues including macadamization of road from Sempora to Balhama, adequate transport facility, development of playground, demarcation of land, settlement of revenue records and digitization of the same, proper survey regarding Social Welfare Schemes, construction of drains, up gradation of healthcare facilities and removal of encroachments in the area, shifting of electric poles, adequate supply of water and power, providing Skill Development Center, Mashroom Cultivation Unit in the area.
The DC gave patient hearing to the demands of the people and passed on spot instructions to the concerned departments for time bound resolution of all the issues.
While interacting with the people, the DC said that all the developmental activities are being supervised and monitored to ensure their timely completion. He urged the local population to come forward and avail benefits from such welfare schemes.
The DC directed the Labour Department to organize an awareness camp regarding Labour Social Security and Welfare Schemes for mass awareness of local population in the area so that they are benefitted from the government welfare schemes.
During the camp, Officers of Agriculture, Labour, Employment and other departments, highlighted the benefits of various government sponsored flagship programmes including MUMKIN, PMEGP, PM- JAY SEHAT, Social welfare and other schemes.
During the tour, the DC also inspected the pace of various ongoing developmental works including construction of boundary wall and fencing of Bala Devi Mandir and Graveyard at Balhama besides other work sites.
The DDC instructed the concerned officers to expedite all developmental works within set timelines to ensure better road connectivity and other basic amenities to the locals. He directed the officers to work in double shifts for timely completion of all ongoing projects.
Among others, Chief Planning Officer Srinagar, Mohammad Yassen Lone, Assistant Commissioner Development, Bilal Mukhtar, Chief Agriculture Officer, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats, Assistant Commissioner Labour, Tehsildar Pantha Chowk, District Mineral Officer, Executive Engineers of PHE, PDD and R&B, and other concerned Officers, besides various public representatives including the members of District Development Council, Sarpanchs and Panchs were also present.
