Srinagar : Nine more sessions were held on the second day of the ongoing International Conference on Nanotechnology for Better Living (NBL-21) on Wednesday at National Institute of Technology Srinagar.
The 7th edition of biennial International conference is held under the aegis of Materials Research Society of India (MRSI) in association with Higher Education (J&K), SKIMS, SKUAST-K, SSM, Anna University, IIT Madras, NIT Mizoram, Sathyabama, M G University, and IIT Delhi from 07-11th September.
Director NIT Srinagar, Prof Rakesh Sehgal said the conference is bridging the gap between the young scientists and eminent speakers from across the country.
Registrar NIT Srinagar Prof. Kaiser Bukhari said the conference is enhancing the role of the institution. In the future, it will play a prominent role in the academic life scientific fraternity.
Convener of Conference and HOD Physics, Dr. MA Shah informed that nine more special sessions were hosted in the ongoing international conference on Wednesday, both offline mode and online mode.
“In the five days, the program includes 35 keynote lectures by a group of world leaders in advanced materials, who are addressing topics dealing with new methods of fabrications, nano-medicine for improved diagnostics, nano pesticides used in agriculture and climate change,” he said.
The online session started with the lecture of Prof. Sabu Thomas, Vice-Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi University. The session was followed by the talk by Prof. Absar Ahmad, Director Aligarh Muslim University. More than 10 delegates from different universities and institutions from India and abroad (Saudi Arabia, USA, Malaysia) delivered their talks.
The hosts of the session were encouraged by Prof. Qayyum Hussain, Vice-Chancellor, Cluster University of Srinagar. He discussed many possibilities of new startups in education departments.
The rector of International Islamic University Malaysia, Prof. Dzulkifli Abdul Razak gave a talk on trust and fairness, and justice in health and pharmaceuticals sciences. The respected delegates discussed the worldwide issues which can be solved using nanotechnology, with around 200 participants from India and abroad.
There were 2 oral sessions and 2 poster sessions online mode which were presided by Dr. M. A. Shah, Dr. Prince A. Ganai, Dr. G. A. Harmain, Dr. Shamima Hussain, Dr. Kieser Sadiq Bhat, Dr. Suriya Rehman.
Similarly in online mode, special session (For Memorial Lecture) in which 8 participants delivered their lectures. It was jointly chaired by Dr. MA Shah and Dr. Sanjeev Rana from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Kakriya.
It was followed by Oral Session, in which 10 participants spokes on different topics. It was chaired by Dr. Gausia Qazi and Dr. Tabassum (Former HoD Chemistry).
The Poster Session-6a was chaired by Dr. Javaid Ahmad (Former HoD Chemistry) and Dr. Barkat Hussain Bhat. In the session, 10 participants participated. While Poster Session -6b was chaired by Dr. Atik-U-Rahman and Dr. Shahnaz Majid. During the session, 8 participants delivered their lectures.
While concluding session titled- Poster Session -6c was chaired by Dr. Tariq Sofi and Dr. Vishal Choudhary. In which 08 participants delivered their lectures on several topics.
The participants enjoyed the discussions and presented their work and gained experience from the experts. The online session was hosted by Nikhilesh Kumar Dilwaliya, Surbhi Rajpoot, Durakhshan Ashraf Qadri, and Nikita Gill.
