Jammu: The Department of Youth services and Sports is conducting Inter School Zonal Level Competitions in the disciplines of Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Carrom, Chess, Tug of war & Cricket at Khail Gaon here.
Director Youth Services and Sports J&K Gazanfar Ali on his visit to the venue was apprised by District Youth Services and Sports Officer Jammu Sukhdev Raj Sharma and other officers of the Department that the competitions are being conducted for all zones of District Jammu and student players of all age groups are participating in these competitions.
Director sports was told that the main objective behind conducting these competitions is to select the best players/teams for next level of competitions.
After interacting with the young and budding players and expressing his best wishes to the field staff of the Department for organising the competitions in best possible manner, Gazanfer Ali also took stock of the construction works and development of playfields at Khail Gaon.
Director YS&S was accompanied by Jatinder Mishra, Deputy Director (Central), Ravi Kumar Deputy Director (plan) YS&S , Team of Engineers from JK Sports Council and ZPEO Dansal Veena Tickoo.
