Srinagar:- Chairman People’s Democratic Front ( PDF) Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has expressed serious concern over the burgeoning unemployment problem in Jammu and Kashmir and has urged the Center to announce a special employment package to bring a breeze of hope on the pensive faces of unemployed youth.
Talking to various reputations of his constituency , who called on him to seek redressal of their day to day problems confronting , including a deputation of unemployed youth, Hakeem while expressing serious concern over the plight of unemployed youth, urged the Central government to announce an exclusive special employment package for jammu and Kashmir youth to save desperate jobless youth from committing suicides and drug addiction. ” Given the large-scale rise in drug addiction and suicide tendencies , announcement of a massive Central employment package for JK youth was the first priority of the hour , ” Hakeem maintained adding that redressal of developmental and other socio- political issues could take it’s own time. He said ” We can not afford to wait and see our youth – the creamy layer of our society – getting ruined merely due to non availability of job opportunities for thier livelihood , Hakeem said while urging the Central government to announce an exclusive employment package immediately. He said a special job package could be an effective confidence building measure (CBM) to bring the youth of Jammu and Kashmir more close to the mainstream . He said youth of Jammu and Kashmir are desperately in need of Central government’s outright support for earning their livelihood as there was dearth of private sector jobs in jammu and Kashmir, because of it’s tail end and mountain rugged disadvantageous location. He said history was testimony that successive regimes in jammu and Kashmir since 1947 ,have never tried to exploit it’s own vast natural resources for creating job opportunities for it’s youth except satiating their vested interests and creating assets for them and their near and dear ones, thereby betraying the youth repeatedly and mercilessly. Hakeem has the government for turning a deaf ear towards proper development of three important tourism development authorities ( TDA) of Yusmarg, Doodpathri and Tossamaidan in central district Budgam .” These three tourism development authorities (TDA) possess a vast potential to provide jobs to the local youth, had these been developed adequately but Ala s! , ” Hakeem observed. He has demanded raising of adequate tourism infrastructure at these three tourism development authorities for optimum exploitation of their tourism potential so that local populace could be benefited adequately.
