Srinagar: Unidentified male body was on Saturday found in river Jhelum at Jamia bridge of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Reports said that some locals spotted the body floating over water at Jamia Bridge in Sopore and immediately informed police about it.
Soon after being informed, a police team reached the spot and recovered the body, they said.
The officer said that the body has been recovered and taken into police custody for post-mortem.
“A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations initiated in this regard,” the officer said
