Shopian: As part of the Government’s ambitious Jan Abhiyan programme, the Block Diwas was Wednesday held with great enthusiasm at Gagren, Shopian.
On the occasion, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya convened a public outreach cum interaction programme at BDO, Office, Gagren Shopian.
People hailing from various areas of Shopian Tehsil, PRIs of the district attended the darbar and put forth their issues relating to drinking water supply, improvement of roads, power supply, beautification of Gagren and Macadamisation of interior roads of Gagren etc.
The DDC after giving a patient hearing assured all deputations and individuals that all their genuine issues, demands will be seriously taken note of, however many issues of urgent category were addressed on spot.
He further added that the District Administration is ensuring that public outreach programmes shall prove fruitful and progressive initiatives are taken for the upcoming period.
The programme was also attended by Assistant Commissioner, Development, Tehsildar Shopian, AO, Assistant Director Planning, Block Development Officer Shopian, Assistant Director Employment and other concerned.
The Officers/ Officials of all line departments were present during the block diwas proceedings and remained busy in registering the demands and grievances of the locals with an aim to ensure redressal of grievances in minimum possible time.
Later, the DDC visited and inspected the ongoing work of Indoor Stadium at Arhama and exhorted upon the Executing authority (JKPCC) to speed up the pace of development of the work and complete it within the shortest possible time.
He also visited Ziarat-i-Sharief Arhama and interacted with religious persons there and asked them to take care of the cleanliness of the Ziarat.
Vaishya also visited Ramnagri, Reshnagri, Kanjiuller, Chowdhrigund, Heerpora, Mandujan, Aadidajan, Chaki Masjid and other villages of Shopian district and interacted with the people at these places.
He listened to their demands and issues and assured for early redressal. Some of the issues were resolved on the spot and officers and executing agencies were directed to speed up the developmental works including macadization of roads within the shortest possible time.
The DDC was accompanied by ACD, Hilal Ahmed; Tehsildar, Shopian, Bilal Ahmed; AO, AD Planning, Ex. Engineers and other concerned Officers.
