Jammu: Director Horticulture Jammu, Ram Savak, Saturday conducted an extensive tour of Udhampur and Kathua Districts.
The Director visited Government Fruit Plant Nursery Badola, in Udhampur district . He was accompanied by Chief Horticulture Officer Udhampur and other officers of the department wherein he inspected the mother blocks & nursery beds and issued on spot instructions for production of more than 75% quality true to type fruit plants of citrus at Badola Nursery. He also directed the officers for enhancing the production of walnut grafted plants at Meer Nursery, Panchari.
Later, the Director visited district Kathua wherein he inaugurated the compact High Density plantation of Mango and Citrus spread over an area of 80 kanal at village Dinga Amb and Mahi Chack of Zone Hiranagar and Barnoti respectively under the scheme Capex. Aloevera plantation at village Janglote, Kathua was also inspected during the tour.
The Chief Horticulture Officer Kathua Shushil Kumar Angurana informed the Director about the progress being made in the various components of the different schemes.
The Director Horticulture exhorted upon the officers/officials to work with zeal and dedication and left no stone unturned in achieving the targets allotted under the various centrally and state sponsored schemes of the department for the year 2021-22.
During the tour, the Director was accompanied by Chief Horticulture Officer Kathua, DHO, DLSMS (PP), DLSMS (POM), HDO’s and officials of Kathua District.
