‘Mumkin’ makes dreams a reality: DDC Pulwama

11 commercial vehicles distributed among unemployed youth under ‘Mumkin’ scheme

Pullwama: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Pulwama, Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary Wednesday distributed 11 commercial vehicles including 09 Mahindra Mobile vehicles and 02 TATA load carriers among selected unemployed youth under ‘MUMKIN’ scheme at DC office complex, here.
MUMKIN is a Customized Livelihood Scheme for the Youth in the age group 18-35 of J&K launched by LG, J&K in November, 2020.
The vehicle distribution ceremony was organised by DE&CC Pulwama, AD Employment Pulwama besides officials of DE&CC Pulwama, Mahindra and TATA Company were present at the event.
Earlier in the month of May 2021 the applications were invited through JK e-Services Portal and about 84 applications were received online in respect of District Pulwama. After due verification & scrutinization of the application, District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) chaired by DC Pulwama approved 14 applications during the first phase. 03 commercial vehicles were already handed over to the beneficiaries approved by DLIC in the last month.
The purpose of the scheme is to facilitate the youth to establish a sustainable livelihood in the transport sector by providing financial assistance for purchase of small commercial vehicles.
Under the scheme, the banking partner extends the loan facility to the extent of 100 percent of the On-road Price of the vehicle purchased. Mission Youth, J&K provides an amount of Rs 80,000 or 10 percent of on-road price of the vehicle (whichever is lesser) as upfront subsidy.
The vehicle manufacturer (Scheme Partner of Govt.) also provides an upfront special discount, not less than the amount of subsidy.
On the occasion, the DDC said that the Mumkin Scheme is a way forward for unemployed Youth to make their dreams a reality. He also congratulated the recipient beneficiaries and wished them success in their chosen livelihood under the transport sector.
