NSS unit of GCOE organizes series of events to mark Independence Day

Jammu:National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Government College of Education (GCOE) in conjunction with Red Ribbon Club organized series of events to mark 75th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotism.
Dr. Shubhra Jamwal, NSS Programme Officer, elaborately explained about the activities and achievements of the unit.
The events were conducted strictly as per the SOPs issued by the government regarding COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Kulvinder Kour highlighted the significance of the day and recalled the freedom fighters. She stressed that freedom does not come easily and we are all indebted to our national heroes who made this country what it is Friday. She also said that as patriotic citizens, we have to put extra effort into performing our civic responsibilities.
A variety of patriotic songs, dances and other related events by the students marked the celebration of 75th Independence Day.
Meanwhile, a massive cleanliness drive was also held in the institution as part of Swachh Bharat Mission. The NSS volunteers participated in creating awareness among the public informing them about the importance of cleanliness.
The performances were judged by Professor Kuldeep Raina, Professor Satish K Sharma and Dr. Jyoti Parihar while Professor C.L.Shivgotra, Professor Radhika Mahajan, Convener Red Ribbon Club, Professor Shapia Shameem Bhatti, Professor Seema Kumari, Professor Sarita Dogra and Professor Neeraj Verma also graced the occasion.
The volunteers who contributed to the successful organization of the event included Priya Chivalry Singh, Aakriti Kour, Ajay Bhau, Ambica Mishra, Diksha Devi, Hema Choudhary, Samreeti, Suvidha Sambyal, Sourav Sharma, Mandeep, Shikha, Anisha, Komal Bhat and Sonakshi.
