PHQ sanctions rupees 20 lakh to different units for conducting different activities/events

Srinagar: Police Headquarters has sanctioned Rs 20 lakh under Civic Action Program in favour of 50 heads of different units of Jammu and Kashmir Police for conducting different activities in their respective jurisdictions, in connection with the celebration of “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahautsav” during the financial year 2021-22.

An official statement issued from the police headquarters reads “Vide PHQ order No. 2429 of 2021 the Director General Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned Rs 0.40 lakh each in favour of ADGP Armed, J&K, ADGP Jammu Zone, IGP Kashmir Zone, all range DIsG, all District SSPs, SSP Crime Branch Kashmir, SP Trafic rural Jammu/Kashmir, Commandants of JKAP 3rd,4th,5th,7th,8th,9th,11th, IRP-12th,13th,14th,16th,18th,20th,23th and 24th for organizing the activities/events under civic action program”.

The above referred police statement also said that the activities/events to be conducted under the “Azadi ka Amrut Mahautsav” include cultural events “Shaheedon Ko Naman”, Covid-19 India’s Response, Sports Festival (Football,Volleyball, Kabaddi, Tug of War, Kho-Kho), Debates on Indian Freedom Struggle, Cleanliness Drives, Cycle Rallies (in the name of martyrs/national heroes), Painting Competitions, Marathons, Plantation Drives, Homage to martyrs, Screening of movies based on freedom struggle & glory of martyrs, Awareness programmes on constitution/ democracy, Organising of Yoga camps, Awareness on Make in India, organizing disaster management programmes, Arranging visits of students to local wildlife sanctuaries, organizing Tiranga rallies and many other activities/ events.

Stating that yhe DDO’s have been directed to publicize the events through print, electronic media and social media platforms, the police in the concluding para of it’s statement said “some of the Police units have already started the programmes in their respective jurisdictions”, adding that “In this regard a detailed calendar of events has been issued for current financial year as also 2022 wherein the 75 programmes/ events/ activities will be conducted across the Jammu and Kashmir”.
