Ang/Aug, 9 : Suspected militants on Monday afternoon shot dead a Sarpanch and his wife from Kulgam, presently living in Lal Chowk area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
A local news agency quoted an official as saying that a Sarpanch namely Ghulam Rasool of Redwani Bala affiliated with BJP snd his wife Jawhara Banoo were fired upon by suspected militants in Lal Chowk area of Anantnag.
He said the couple was shifted to GMC Anantnag for treatment but both of them they succumbed to their injuries on way to the hospital.
He added that the area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers—(KNO)
