I-Day arrangements reviewed at Kulgam

Kulgam: In order to ensure graceful and grand functions on the eve of Independence day this year in the district, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat Thursday convened a meeting of officers to review and finalize arrangements for Independence Day celebrations at Conference hall of mini-secretariat, here.
During the meeting all arrangements were reviewed for the National function, which includes flag hoisting at district, Sub-Divisional, Tehsil, block, Panchayat and school level.
Besides arrangements for security, seating, transportation, parking, electricity, refreshment, medicare, availability of ambulance, deployment of fire tenders and sanitation measures, installation of PA system were reviewed.
The meeting was informed that all requisite arrangements have been put in place and main function of the celebrations will be held at District Police Lines, Kulgam, where the chief guest will hoist the National Flag followed by inspection of parade and taking of the salute.
The DC also instructed the concerned departments to ensure uninterrupted drinking water and power supplies to the venues on the day of Independence.
He also directed for proper illumination of buildings and institutions.
The EO of Municipal Council Kulgam was directed by the DC to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness of the main venue and town.
He also directed the officers to ensure strict enforcement of COVID-19 SOPs.
The DC stressed to ensure fool proof arrangements at all levels to make the event a great success.
ADDC, ADC, ACR, ACD, CPO, CEO, Principals from Colleges, Commandant CRPF 18th battalion, all Tehsildars, Ex. Engineers of R&B and PHE, ARTO, DYSSO BDOs and other district and sectoral officers of the district were present in the meeting.
