DDC Srinagar extensively tours hilly areas in Khanmoh Block , listen to public grievances

Srinagar: As part of Public outreach Program, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad wednesday undertook an extensive tour of various remote/hilly areas of Srinagar district including Sangri and Chak basti in Khonmoh Block to bring administration to door steps of people for on spot resolution of public issues. He also inspected ongoing works at PHC Zewan.
Among others, Chief Planning Officer Srinagar, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Zonal Medical Officer Batamaloo, Block Development Officer Khonmoh and other concerned Officers, besides various public representatives including the members of District Development Council, Sarpanchs and Panchs were also present.
During the visit, the District Development Commissioner interacted with the people of the areas and received first hand appraisal about the public issues and demands.
On the occasion, the people projected various demands and submitted a charter of demands including establishing Ration Depot at habitations of Sangri and Chak, Regulation of Electricity tariff by revision of electricity agreement, cleaning of drain along with Sangri under MGNREGA, regulation of water supply, boundary wall for Middle School Sangri, requirement of Anganwadi Centre at Poshpathri and Sangri, requirement of Dispensary and setting up of Mobile Tower at Sangri.
The locals also demanded for construction of Environmental Parks in the areas to explore and promote tourism potential in these remote and far-flung areas for upliftment of socio-economic conditions of locals, besides
The DDC along with other officers gave patient hearing to the people and passed on the spot instructions to the concerned departments.
The DDC also visited Primary Health Center (PHC) Zeewan which has been recently completed . The PHC has a 25 bed oxygen facility as well to have in house Covid Care infrastructure. The DDC was informed that all people residing in the area have been administered with Covid-19 vaccines.
