Srinagar: National Conference President, Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Omar Abdullah a former Chief Minister, PDP Chief and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, J&K Congress President Gh Ahmed Mir, President J&K Apni Party Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, Chairman Peoples Conference Sajad Gani Lone, Chairman Peoples’ Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen and CPI(M) Secretary M Y Tarigami on Wednesday expressed profound grief and sorrow over the death of seven persons in a Cloudburst that hit Kishtwar’s Honzar Hamlet of Dachan Tehsil.
Expressing grief over the unfortunate incident, NC President Dr Farooq Abdullah said, “I am deeply saddened over the loss of lives due to the flash floods caused by a cloud burst in Dachhan Kishtwar. I express my condolences with the bereaved families, whose loved ones were devoured in the catastrophe. My thoughts and prayers are with them at this difficult time. I hope the underway rescue operation bears positive results,” he said.
Expressing grief over the incident, Omar Abdullah prayed that those missing are recovered safe and sound. “My deepest sympathies are with the bereaved families. I share the grief of those whose loved ones have lost their precious lives in the mishap. May those whose valuable lives were devoured in the mishap find peace in the hereafter,” he said.
Expressing grief and shock over the loss of lives in Kishtwar cloudburst Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti in a tweet said “Distressed to hear about the cloudburst in Kishtwar today. My deepest sympathies with those who have lost their loved ones & prayers for those missing.”
Expressing grief and shock over the loss of lives in Kishtwar cloudburst Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President prayed for safe recovery of missing persons and conveyed deepest condolences to bereaved families who have lost their love ones in the incident. He also urged the government to speed up the work to trace out the missing persons and pray for their safe recovery.It was terrible and unfortunate news, I was deeply shocked and saddened to learn about the Kishtawar cloudburst incident, Mir added and expressed his solidarity with the bereaved families.
Expressing grief and shock over the loss of lives in Kishtwar cloudburst President J&K Apni Parrty Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari extended solidarity with the bereaved families and prayed for the eternal peace to the departed souls. “The reports pouring in from Kishtwar villages like Honzar and Dacchan are very grim. The administration must do its best to trace out the missing as immediately as possible besides shifting the inhabitants of flood affected localities to safer places,” he added. He urged the administration to airlift the injured for treatment and evacuate the old aged, women and children to the safer places in the first phase of its flood rehabilitation plans. Expressing serious concern over the safety of missing persons, Bukhari asked the administration to press into service its men and machinery to tackle the disaster caused by the flash floods. He also urged the Apni Party workers and volunteers to help the people in their relief and rescue operations. Bukhari said that the government should seek help from the police, army and other para military forces to help the people in this difficult time. “I can only hope that the SDRF will play its role effectively but the government should not leave any stone unturned to help the people in this natural calamity that is vast in its magnitude,” he added. Apni Party president appealed to the people to follow the weather advisories in letter and spirit so that the loss due to such disasters is minimized. “I call upon the administration to go for public announcements in hilly, landslide prone and vulnerable areas so that people do not venture out unnecessarily and follow the weather precautions effectively in view of the incessant rains in the region,” he added . Bukhari urged both the divisional administrations to immediately gear up its preparations in order to tackle the weather situation in their respective regions.
Expressing grief and shock over the loss of lives in Kishtwar cloudburst Chairman J&K Peoples Conference Sajad Gani Lone said “I am extremely saddened and pained over loss of precious lives due to flash floods caused by cloud burst in Kishtwar. I pray for the safety of the people in the affected areas and express solidarity with the bereaved families in their hour of heartrending grief.”, he said . Urging the authorities to work on war footing to mitigate the aftermath of this disaster, Lone said that all efforts should be made to trace the missing persons immediately and all possible help must be extended to the people of Kishtwar in tackling this natural calamity”, he added.
Expressing grief and shock over the loss of lives in Kishtwar cloudburst in a statement issued on Wednesday, Chairman People’s Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen said ” I am shocked and distressed to hear about the loss of precious human lives in cloudburst in Kishtwar “. He expressed his heartfelt sympathies with those who have lost their loved ones. He has also prayed for safety of those who are still missing and early recovery of those who have got severely injured in the incident. Hakeem urged the government to intensify rescue and relief operations and press into service helicopter services to save precious lives. PDF Chairman urged the government to put on alert it’s disaster management agencies especially State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) teams in nook and corner of jammu and kashmir to meet any exigencies in view of inclement weather warning issued by the Metrology department ( MET) for next few days.
Expressing grief and shock over the loss of lives in Kishtwar cloudburst CPI (M) Secretary and former Kulgam legislator, Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami conveyed his sympathies with the bereaved families who have lost their love ones in the incident and also prayed for the speedy recovery of those who have been hospitalized after they were rescued. He also appealed the administration and rescue teams to speed up work to trace the missing persons.
