Handwara: Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Handwara and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued on Wednesday police said “a police party of Police Station Kralgund during patrolling at Ashpora road near Kralgund Hospital apprehended a suspected person identified as Ikhlaq Ahmad Mir son of Gh Ahmad resident of Badbugh and upon checking recovered 100 grams of charas from his possession following which he was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody”,
Stating that a case vide FIR No. 54/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Kralgund and further investigation are underway, police in it’s above referred statement also appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood and warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. In the concluding para of it’s state police said that it’s actions against drug peddlers are taken to reassure the people that efforts are on to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
