Srinagar: Indian Red Cross Society, J&K Chapter Monday reached out to the breeders and chopans in Gumri, Minimarg and Sonmarg areas of district Ganderbal with essential relief items.
On the directions of Kifayat Hussain Rizvi, General Secretary of Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu & Kashmir Chapter, the IRCS Monday delivered essential material like dry ration kits, mink blankets, family hygiene kits, medicine kits, cooking stoves, tarpaulin sheets, buckets etc among the breeders and chopans residing in Gumri, Minimarg and sonmarg forest areas.
A total of 22 families were provided the essential items Monday which were handed over by Rizvi in presence of District Animal Husbandry Officer, Ganderbal. The beneficiaries were identified by the Animal Husbandry Department, Govt. of J&K.
Speaking on the occasion, the General Secretary emphasized the need of supporting the tribal community people who live in far flung areas of J&K. He stressed the need of carrying out such activities on a regular basis and assured that more such families shall be supported by Indian Red Cross Society in future also.
He informed that the list of beneficiaries has already been received through the Animal Husbandry Department and the material shall be delivered to these beneficiaries in the coming days. He thanked the officers and staff of Animal Husbandry Department, Ganderbal for the technical support provided to the IRCS in carrying out the programme.
